Brought to you by…the Letter B!

This week, we have an abbreviated post because it’s been another busy week at Marcum Manor – we’ve had schoolwork and a birthday, and I worked 3 day this week, too! So, without further adieu..

The reason this post is brought to you by the letter “B” is that my son turned 19 on May 28th, and to celebrate his birthday we decided we’d take a little jaunt up to Cleveland where we would see an Indians game and visit the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

It was a really fantastic time, even if it didn’t turn out exactly as planned. The game was a BIT on the chilly side – it was 45 degrees, raining, and literal gale force winds. We were some of the few crazy people who actually went to the game. The announcers kept saying, “this sure isn’t baseball weather!” and let me tell you, it CERTAINLY wasn’t!

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame was considerably better. There is so much to see, and we really enjoyed it, even if the interactive exhibits were closed. I took pictures of everything I could, and there were some really awesome exhibits. If you’re ever there I highly recommend taking it in – it’s WELL worth the money, for sure!

Last and certainly not least (and the highlight of the weekend) was that I was able to meet and spend time with my son’s girlfriend, who he met while at college. She is a lovely young woman, beautiful, and makes my son very happy. I’ve never seen him smile so much (he even agreed to pictures and SMILED in them!) and have such a good time! That alone was worth it all!

So, to that end, I don’t have much (well, any) writing information to impart this week. Just a lot of gratitude for a weekend well spent, and time to relax and decompress some. I will, however, leave you with a question. What is your best memory of time away spent with family? Maybe it was when you were a child, or perhaps it’s now, taking your own child on the trip. Let us know!
