Linley B. Marcum
As a young girl growing up in West Virginia, the opportunities for literary exploration were thin. However, through the magic of a library card, Linley began to explore the world of fiction, where she could travel anywhere her imagination could take her. It was then, reading stories about far away places, mythical beasts, and magical adventures, that Linley decided that a career in writing speculative fiction was the adventure she wanted to undertake.
Linley writes primarily in the genres of high fantasy and horror. Her short story collections are filled with spine-tingling tales of psychological and supernatural horror, while her novels are exciting high fantasy adventures into new worlds of magic, intrigue and sometimes, a little romance.
Still a resident of southwestern West Virginia, Linley lives with her husband, her beagle, and her two cats; her son is pursuing a career in the video game industry. She loves to travel, and in her spare time enjoys sewing, crocheting, and playing MMORPGs. She is a 2018 graduate of the University of Illinois Springfield where she achieved a Bachelor of Arts in English; she is also a 2022 graduate of Southern New Hampshire University, where she achieved a Masters of Fine Arts in Creative Writing.
To write speculative fiction stories that provide escape, adventure, and thrills, and to promote a love of literature in readers from all walks of life.
